If the authors work for different units, their names are expected to be marked with such Arabic figures as 1, 2, 3, etc (the same figure for the same unit) respectively at the upper right corners, indicating the full names of the working units, provinces, cities and postal codes within the bracket below.

8. Citations
All the direct and indirect context citations as well as the references are supposed to be marked with sources in the form of round brackets, and the content and the language of the citations are supposed to conform to those of the references.
If the authors’ names are written in English or Pinyin, autonyms or translated names, only the family names can be cited in references. The names of minority can be cited in the light of English names in references, if they are of similarity in form.
Only the publication year needs to be indicated in paraphrasing the basic points or thematic viewpoints of an author or a reference. E. g.Chen Qianrui (2003) holds a point that the basic state aspects of the Chinese language can be divided into four categories such as the status, activity, finish and result.
The page number of the reference must be offered in directly or indirectly citing a specific point with such a format as “publication year: page number”. E. g.Lv Shuxiang (2002:117) supposes that Cheng (成), a Chinese character, involves four items while acting as a verb: (1) succeed or fulfill; (2) become; (3) can or may; (4) capable.
The author’ name can be put into the bracket along with publication year and page number if it is not a syntactic constituent of the text. E. g.This is due to the influence of the pragmatic transfer of social remark, that is, “the judgment by foreign language learners who mechanically apply the pragmatic rules of their native language cultures and the pragmatic parameters in the use of the target language” ( He Zhaoxiong, 2000: 265).
圆括号内的参引如果不止一条,一般按照出版年排序。同一作者的两条参引之间用逗号隔开,如:Dahl (1985, 2000a, 2000b );不同作者的参引之间用分号隔开。
More than one citations in brackets are generally listed according to the order of the publication years. Two citations from the same author are separated by comma. E. g.Dahl (1985, 2000a, 2000b). The citations from different authors are separated from each other by semicolon.
文献作者如果是两个人,参引时引两个人的名字。中文的格式是在两个名字之间加顿号,如“吕叔湘、朱德熙(1952)”;英文的格式是在两个姓之间加&号,表示“和”,如Li & Thompson (1981)。
If a reference contains two authors, both of the names are indicated in the citation. The caesura sign is used to separate the two names in Chinese format, and the “&” is put between the two family names in English format, signifying “and”, such asLi & Thompson (1981).
If a reference contains three or more than three authors, Only the first one is indicated in the citation. The Chinese format requires the addition of the word “等” up to the first author, such as“夸克等(1985/1989)”,while the English format requires the addition of the Latin abbreviation “et al.” in italic up to the first author’s family name, such as“Quirket al. (1985) ”.
9. References
The first line of each item sets flush left, and the second line as well as the following starts being indented with two Chinese characters.
The reference items are in order of the English alphabet in accordance with the authors’ family names. (Chinese family names are listed in order of the Chinese phonetic system.)
The authors’ names in Chinese are indicated with full name in order of surname plus given name. Only the first author’s name in English (or in Chinese phonetic system) is offered in order of surname plus given name with an English comma to separate, and the rest of the authors’ names are indicated in their original order. The given names of English authors are just in initial form.
Chinese and foreign references are listed in order respectively, with foreign ones ahead of Chinese.
The references with the same author but different publication years are listed in order of the publication years, and the references with the same publication year are listed in order of the initial words of the titles with the addition of a, b, c after the publication year to distinguish.
