Interpretation on the School Emblem of Foreign Languages

As the color of the ocean, the blue ring of the school emblem, with School of Foreign Languages Henan Universityin Chinese and English, represents the purity and magnanimity of the mind. The two letters--W and Y within the circle are the acronym for Wai Yuin Chinese and for Foreign Languagesin English. The yellow W implies that the School of Foreign Languages is thriving as the rising sun. The blue Y, as the color of the sky symbolizes the infinite future development of the school. The window-shade design creates the sense of modern. The figures under the letters ofWandYindicate that the School of Foreign Languages was established in 1912.
