On January 20, 2018, a working conference was held by the editorial office ofForeign Studiesin the first floor conference room, South building of SFL. All the editorial staff attended the meeting.
Yang Chaojun, Editor-in-chief ofForeign Studies, first reviewed the transformation of the journal,fromMiddle School English GardentoForeign Studies, as well as the hardship of the initial publication. He then made an overall arrangement covering copy editing, compilation, management and future blueprint.
After that, editorial director Jiang Ling summarized the work of editorial office in 2017 and informed the work planfor 2018, as well as the work program for the core journal. Subsequently, all editorstold about their suggestionsfor the office’s development.
Finally,Yang Chaojunemphasizedthat itis necessary to fully recognize the significance of editorial work and effectively improve professional skills andediting quality. With the joint efforts of all staff, Yang hoped that the quality and influence of publications will be furtherdeveloped intocore journals within four years. (Jiang Ling)
