On June 15th,2018, Shang Xin, a professor Shanghai maritime university holds a lecture entitled "comparison analysis between English and Chinese and derivation of translation strategies --a new approach toward language comparison and translation studies" in the third hall of the north building of foreign language college. The host istheteacher, Niu Baoyi.
Professor Shang draws his hypothesis from the analysis of definite articles and indefinite articles in a fairy tale, that is, in Chinese, word order plays the function of definite and indefinite reference. In another example, Shakespeare's classical question is used to validates his hypothesis. After studying the linguistic turn,cultural turn, and corpus turn of translation, and translation teaching, reform, teaching material research and so on, he points out his own direction, using language contrast research to study translation. In dealing with the interface between contrast and translation, he proposes a new path: from contrast to know type, from type to know rule, from rule to conclude strategy, from corpus toverify.
