On the afternoon of December 1, the seminar on postgraduate training was held in the conference room at the first floor of theschool offoreignlanguage. Professor Yang Chaojun, Dean of the School of Foreign Language, presided over the meeting. The seminor invited Professor Liang Xiaodong, Dean of the School of Foreign Language of Henan Normal University, and Professor Liu Guobing, Associate Dean of the School of Foreign Language of Henan Normal University. Also attending the conference were Li Xiangling, deputy dean of theschool offoreign Language, and heads of thedepartment of English, Russian, Japanese, andtranslation major. The meeting held a discussion on the graduate training program.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dean Yang Chaojun warmly welcomed the leaders form Henan Normal University, introduced the members of the meeting, andthe historical situation ofForeign Language collegeas well as the training program for postgraduates. Subsequently, Dean Liang Xiaodong also gave a basic introduction to the postgraduate training of Henan Normal University. For foreign language and literature majors, the leaders of the two sides had a heated discussion on how to further improve the innovation of academic postgraduates, how to promote the reform of curriculum system, and how to improve the quality of academic postgraduate training. Professor Li Xiangling pointed out that there are many problems in master's degree students, such as inadequate professional competence and weak linguistic skills. In order to improve their creativity, it is necessary to urge students to read more books which will help to consolidate their linguistic skills. Dean Liang Xiaodong also said that students' creativity is not achieved in a day, and they need long-term accumulation and continuous practice to achieve breakthrough academic results. He also noticed that in order to improve the quality of students,the schoolshould givesupport. As for the cultivation of master of translation, such as how to improve their practical ability, how to perfect the dual tutorial system as well as the quality of training students,both sides have further discussion and reached agreement on this topic.
This conference is not only a simple process of discussion, but also a valuable opportunity to learn from the experience of different universities. Through ideasexchange, it can not only optimize the training mode of graduate students, but also provide an important guarantee for the growth of students.
