On the afternoon of October 24, theGOLDEN AGE–2ndCC CUPInternational Chinese Culture Translation Contest, jointly sponsored by Henan University, Beijing Language and Culture University and SinologyBilingualResearchAssociation of ChinesePre–QinHistorySociety, co–hosted by Foreign LanguageSchoolof Henan University, Shanghai Worldness Translation Groups andthe organizing committeesof the contest,was successfully held in Kaifeng. Li Haoyong and Zhang Tingyu won the grand prize and the first prize respectively fromthe groupofChinese students.
Thecontestadheres to the concept of“scholarship and responsibility, sinology and language, inheritance and dissemination, succession and development”, and the translation principle of“translating poetry by poetry and translating classics by classics”. It introduces and promotes the excellent traditional Chinese literature to the world throughatargeted, planned, continuous, systematic and comprehensive way. In the competition, Li Haoyong and Zhang Tingyu, two outstanding students of ourinstitute, won the unanimous affirmation and recognitionfrom ourguests, audience and judges for their calm self–confidence, fluent bilingual translation and standard pronunciation. After fierce competition, Li Haoyong and Zhang Tingyu won the grand prize and the first prize from the group of Chinese students respectively.
